A little comedy about vampires ordinary lives (pun intended), with a bit of werewolves and zombies... don't expect to laugh loud, it will not happen; but some smiles, here and there, could!
DO NOT watch it if you are not a die-hard vampire fan - you are warned!
I enjoyed this movie. It was pretty clear that the makers of the film had a love and a thorough knowledge for vampire lore beyond the facile. Compared to movies like "A Million Ways to Die in the West" and the godawful "Scary Movie" franchise, "What We Do" better understands its source material.
Unfortunately, though "What" starts out strong, it becomes obvious that the film won't have a strong overarching structure. Instead, it just meandered and would have been better if a short film (10 to 30 minutes).
The movie isn't as funny as Edgar Wright's genre riffs, but, actually, I'd still recommend it!
I agree: 30 minutes max will be the right time, maybe 20 should be enough... anyone would like to make a mini fanedit?
