Has anyone seen The Last Jedi yet?
avatar
I did, next time please use report post button
avatar
Mods, please remove links in Tom's last post in Warriors of Virtue thread, in progress, complete projects
avatar
No need to send it back I guess, you just reclaim your money.
avatar
Also, at the moment I have a bigger problem: The battery of my car seems defect... Standing 2 days: no more starting the engine...
avatar
Fair enough, I forgot it was an international order
avatar
Yeah, but I have to use time, to send it back... including wrapping it up, and going to a postal office to ship it internationally.. with driving there.. and time to wait.. then writing (polite Mails) that the item is not as specifizied... I think it will consume about 1 -2 hours...
avatar
If the seller sends you something different to that shown in the listing, then it's 'Not as described' and you're entitled to a full refund, including postage.
avatar
zoidberg: I think the procedure of sending it back and trying to reclaim my money and such is more time consuming than the money would compensate...
avatar
@MrBrown Noooooooooooo! Send it back!
avatar
Damn French... Depicting the old 2 Disc BD Version at eBay... And sending the skynet release...
avatar
Let's hope he didn't compulsively edit it like he did all his other early films...
avatar
George's original student film is showing on Dust this week.
avatar
Double bill 9pm on the 13th! Can’t wait. But I’m slightly worried I can’t look at Daisy Ridley since I met her and made an ass of myself hahah
avatar
Going on the 13th here. Got my seat reserved and a restaurant planned with my friend. Nice day in perspective Smile
avatar
I'm going on the 14th, Israel also gets to see it from the 13th, but I gotta work...
avatar
I wanted to do the double feature but I get more benefit from my Marcus card for the $5 Tuesdays.
avatar
I've got Double Feature tix for an advance screening this Thursday in Dolby Cinema. Get to see TFA and TLJ back to back in my favorite format! Big Grin
avatar
Ok
avatar
I've got tickets for my daughter and I for the 19th. Marcus Theaters here has a $5 Tuesday. We get a free popcorn each. All I have to buy is the soda. Very sweet deal and great time spent with my daughter. Smile
avatar
Ready to watch The Last Jedi on December 13th? It's not friday, so... Big Grin
avatar
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVNIEszp2UQ Live From The Red Carpet Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
avatar
Previously released HDRip with Korean subs was 2.35:1
avatar
Would take a comparison to see whether it's OM or cropped, or someone who saw it in cinema and remembers.
avatar
IT HDRip seems to be open matte, Imdb lists movie as 2.35:1, but HDRip is 16:9
avatar
I know that at least my TV doesn't meet the requirements... But I plan on changing that next year... As long as the HD Fury box is still available then...
avatar
Well if you're going to play UHD discs without DeUHD, you're going to need to run the cyberlink tool that analyzes your system and reports if you're computer meets the requirements or not
avatar
I need an external drive... They are about 70 Euro... But from out companies... I never heard off... Pioneer external USB slim BDXL Rom starts with 100 Euro...
avatar
My bdxl drive was like £50 4 years ago
avatar
Also, somehow I don't trust deUHD and additionally, it is announced to work with some titles.. Not all of them...
avatar
Even the normal BDXL drives are as expensive as an UHD drive...
avatar
Some of the BDXL drives will work with the software
avatar
If you use DeUHD you don't have to use a UHD drive
avatar
it was cheaper to buy an UHD drive in japan with paying duties ans shipping, than buying one in germany...
avatar
I hope amazon.co.jp ships my UHD Drive this year...
avatar
I tried them all and it's results were fantastic but THE COST!!!
avatar
But I won't go for DVDFab.. I don't like the "ALL-IN-ONE" Solutions.. I love Handbrake to convert Video... and eac3to to slice BD and DVD up into fine parts...
avatar
I used their 4k conversion, it was really decent
avatar
DVDFab Passkey was given away for free and is enough to simply rip and playback DVD/Blurays
avatar
its like black friday all over again!
avatar
and just one discount can be applied.. so it goes down to about $210
avatar
not 199$
avatar
damn.. 299 $
avatar
mhm.. the DVDFab All-in-one is $199 at the moment.. and with the 30% discount (FAB30).. if it applies.. itshould be $140 .. and if the 25% discount (25GIFT) applies...
avatar
I did and all the fall off the internet versions are virus grounds
avatar
...I am more a fan of small fluffy animals.
avatar
I never invested in DVD Fab ...
avatar
I wish i didnt loose my dvdfab in a PC crash, that thing is expensive
avatar
I am more curious regarding the question if my PC would play 4K UHD BD...
avatar
Regular BD is no problem... I only have one pc not able to play BD, because of licensing issues with the decryption keys of my Display... But even Region Coding doesn't stop me from buying and watching BD Movies...
avatar
I simply thought we're talking about regular BDs Tongue
avatar
Not when it comes to 4K, no. Not now for AnyDVD, not ever for DVDFab.
avatar
AnyDVD/DVDFab is your friend
avatar
I can Watch bluray not on all my PCs.. one, the PC is well enough, but the Monitor doesn't support the aacs protection, so the PC doesn't play the BD...
avatar
I can watch Bluray on my PC.
avatar
At the moment, I wait for the Pioneer BDR-XD07J-UHD to be available...
avatar
lol
avatar
"You don't simply walk into Mordo... Uhm... Watch a BD on your PC."
avatar
It's literally simpler to rip a Blu Ray than to watch it on a PC. Tongue (not talking UHD, but the time will come too)
avatar
The point 8s,that due to the actions against piracy, a pirated copy often is more convenient, than the original discs... I don't think they add these awful anti piracy spots on pirated versions...
avatar
AFAIK the UHD BDs are not Region coded... I read something about that somewhere...
avatar
Are they still implementing Region Coding?
avatar
The whole UHD on p.c is a pain. I understand the need to curb piracy don't get me wrong. But the amount of hoops you have to go through to get a legit disc working is just stupid. It will all be fully broken in a matter of time!
avatar
Found it, it's called Intel SGX. (Safe Guard Extensions)
avatar
If you use DeUHD you won't have to deal with those HW requirements; will depend entirely on if your system has the raw power to decode the video.
avatar
I have a Intel i7 dual core of the new family, with a Intel Iris Plus 650 chipset...
avatar
@TomArrow at least regarding the problem with the encryption modulesyou are tight, but I don't know regarding the "private memory" for the keys... But that also is quite possible.
avatar
I think the hardware specs are not because of speed solely but also because of encryption modules that older hardware doesn't have. I forgot the name, but there's a technology by Intel to have "private memory" for software to store keys in so that other software can't access them, which is used by PowerDVD for example (afaik)
avatar
... And the Drive also need some specific chipset... Or has to be a license information... But not every BD XL Rom is capable of playing uhd BD. Seems as if, at the moment capable BD Rom are only available in Japan.
avatar
And with playing uhd on PC it us not as easy. The hardware specs are quite... Harsh. It seems as if AMD are not capable of playing uhd BD at all. So you need a new Pentium with a special on chip graphic processor in.
avatar
@Jetrell: surely. But they are expensive, also. The newer Xbox One (it think it is the S revision) has an UHD capable BD drive, while the PS4 just got 4K,but no UHD capable drive, so it may run games in 4K,but can't play uhd BDs...
avatar
I believe one needs a dedicated UHD player though, not a regular Bluray player.
avatar
Afaik the HDCP version is independent of the content. It's just that all UHD discs use HDCP 2, not that UHD requires it. If you manage to convert HDCP version, you still need a display capable of showing the data. Although it's thinkable the Blu Ray player / software downscales automatically then
avatar
I think it keeps the expanded color space though(?)
avatar
You can play UHDs on a 1080p display it will just downconvert to 1080p SDR.
avatar
For me it is more interesting to watch my uhd discs... I have no hdcp 2.2 compatible TV... And at the moment no player... With the box, I could invest in playing ability... And save some more u til I get a TV...
avatar
They're doing both. All their releases marked "x265" are captures, the other ones are the real thing, probably using DeUHD
avatar
They seem to crack them on a disc by disc basis. Works on a wide variety of drives, means that you don't need all the inane HW/SW requirements mandated by Cyberlink/BDA
avatar
DeUHD software is able to bypass encryption on some discs
avatar
I thought it was within the drives only that this access was accomplished.
avatar
According to the interweb aacs2.0 may have been cracked
avatar
So the HDRINVASION people are essentially just capturing HDR stuff?
avatar
Ah... Damn...the BD Rom I was going to order was not capable of uhd video... Need to import something from Japan for that task...
avatar
Is anyone able to do some upscaling for me?
avatar
The HDRINVASION guys say they use a Revesun unit, which is much cheaper
avatar
Yeah.... Quite pricey... Need to save up some money until I get it...
avatar
The HDFury?
avatar
There seems to exist a box that converts a hdcp 2.2 input to a hdcp 1.4 output...
avatar
So... Just bought a BDXL Drive... Have to try if my Little PC is capable of playing 4K Media... I think it won't be... But I give it a try...
avatar
There are people/companies who offer such services though.
avatar
For 35mm I have a film scanner at home. Originally meant for photography, but surely works for movie film as well. For 70mm you might need one that is meant for middle format (which is around 6x6); though 70mm is 6.5cm from what I read, so I am not 100% sure it would fit in.
avatar
What's the go to method for getting individual film cells (in this case 70MM) scanned?
avatar
Literally nothing interesting, just security related fixes
avatar
Just under-the-hood fixes or new ground-breaking features? (I hope #2)
avatar
Updated to MyBB 1.8.14
avatar
Gonna update the forum in like 20 minutes, expect 403 error. Should be quicker this time
avatar
It's too early for Christmas films for me. I wait at least until the week leading up to Christmas.
avatar
About 20 Years ago, my mother witnessed Christmas Music in a Mall... in July. The Played a Song from a german Punk-Rock Band "Die Roten Rosen" the Song was "Weihnachtsmann vom Dach" ("Santa Clause from the attic")
avatar
A couple years back the seasonal music channel on my cable tv started the Xmas music at 3pm on Halloween! The horror...the horror...
avatar
They were selling Christmas cookies 2 months ago here already
