They better not have the puke green transfer of the Matrix
avatar
Hope so!

Phenomena is getting a UHD release, seems to be a collaboration between Arrow and Synapse. Will it be blue
avatar
RIP Stephen Sondheim Sad
avatar
They should use the Open Matte and make a slightly larger version for IMAX
avatar
Hopefully it'll get home release as well.

Peter Jackson has turned the Beatles into waxworks! A.I. denoising, reducing the Beatles to amorphous blobs! (Not that bad, but still terrible IMO. Sick ) I am considering if I should try to put it through film emulation once it comes out to maybe make it a bit more watchable?
avatar
Aw no. They changed the colour timing on The Outsiders and now it looks wrong!
avatar
"The Electrical Life of Louis Wain", a 2021 movie in 1.33:1 aspect ratio? GREAT!!!

very intriguing

avatar
Looks great. Hopefully a full movie comes from this.
avatar
Love it! While the "Final Wars" suit was never my favourite it's still lovely to see that Toho have kept hold of it and dusted it off for this special. I'd love to see more of this, even if it's just a series of shorts. I loved "Shin-Godzilla" and thought the digital effects were decent, but there was definitely something lost by not using suits.
avatar
And here is the final version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaDfDKIQY5k
avatar
Agreed
avatar
Kickass. I wonder if the suitmation style of Kaiju movies will ever make a proper comeback. I liked Shin and Legendary Godzilla, but man do I miss the charming nature those suits brought in the older movies.
avatar
Rubber suit Godzilla is coming back for a special short: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSgeUsVj2J4

yep lol
avatar
you mean part 2
avatar
Dune Part 2 officially confirmed
avatar
I saw in laser IMAX but only a 1.90:1 screen, was stunnjng
avatar
We can hope.
avatar
Will the home video releases be opened up for the IMAX scenes?
avatar
I saw it on digital IMAX. Not sure what the OAR is on the regular one but opening scene was filling the screen (which is 1.90:1) but then it looked like it remained at 2:00:1 for the rest of it as there were very small black bars top and bottom
avatar
Anyone lucky enough to see it in IMAX?
avatar
avatar
I've only just found out that No Time To Die has 40mins shot in IMAX!

"Like New Laserdiscs for Donation in New Jersey" - https://www.reddit.com/r/LaserDisc/comme...ew_jersey/ SOMEONE SHOULD GET THEM! Big Grin
avatar
@alleycat I'd be willing to take a look, but I've only seen the film once years ago on VHS so wouldn't be able to give anything more than generic "looks good/bad" opinions.
avatar
I wouldn't know what to look for.
avatar
Any volunteers to test the Extended Version of Johnny Mnemonic I've just finished? Need a second set of eyes to look for color anomalies. Thanks
avatar
I saw no time to die in laser imax, can confirm loudness
avatar
Any Nyquist programmer here, that can mod an Audacity plugin? If so, drop me a PM. Thanks!
avatar
It was definitley the right end to the series. Movie didn´t felt long but i have my trouble with it regarding the script. In my personal view it takes the fourth place out of the 5 movies.
avatar
Nice
avatar
Oh and I forget just how loud cinemas are!
avatar
Brilliant end to the series and didn't feel too long.
avatar
Let us know how it is. I hear pretty good but a long affair.

Midnight screening of Bond tonight - so excited to be watching the big screen again.

avatar
Oh... And it ends being in Hollywood suite in 4 days...
avatar
Dang, because ATM I can watch prime included stuff from USA... But I cannot subscribe to channels or rent movies there...
avatar
It's Prime Video Canada only, and you also need a Hollywood Suite subscription in addition to Prime Membership to view the TC.
avatar
Seems as if the Theatrtical Version of Highlander is not avaible at the moment. I just can watch the DC on amazon.com
avatar
At the Moment I cannot check. Is it included in Prime, or would I need to rent it additional to Prime, if I would have US Prime? EDIT: Seems as if it is Prime included.
avatar
The US cut of Highlander is on Hollywood Suite's On-Demand Prime Video channel. Its definitely the US cut as the RT is shorter than the Euro cut and Fox is listed as the provider https://www.primevideo.com/detail/0KVQUK...et_ca_xx_s Any takers? I'm not in Canada and Prime Video are known to block VPNs and non region correct payments and infos.

As far as video game movies go, I'll take SMB over ANY of the Resident Evil films. And MK '95 still reigns supreme as the best video game movie imo

Who knew the original Rancor was an ape: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO6pdxHXi3o
avatar
Nice to see everyone's new projects coming along. Didn't plan on taking a break from Fanres but work picked up and life got in the way.
avatar
Despite being a stinker of a movie, I do love how dedicated the fans are. And the SMB Archive website reminds me of the good old days of the web. I do own the BD and watched it last year and was tough to get through but I still have nostalgia for it. Must watch the extended version soon
avatar
I don't mind watching VHS rips at all but they went a little far in "restoring" some scenes with the filter and looks horrible in motion. Also is the aspect ratio wrong on the video? I think a 4:3 flag on the container is needed to correct it.
avatar
SMB and HL2 do have the commonality of coming up with a gonzo concept and running hard with them. I do appreciate that Smile
avatar
@zoidberg As someone who has spent far too much of their spare time on Highlander 2 I think it's fair to say that I can appreciate a hot mess Smile
avatar
Im pretty certain SMB was never at any point of its production anything but a flaming hot mess. Its hardwired into its DNA
