I followed any episodes of the new series - from Cristopher Ecclestone's doctor ahead - but I missed the last one... so, I took the occasion an rewatch them all during this week - currently in the middle of series 8.
Peter Capaldi is not the best Doctor IMHO - don't know if I preferred Matt Smith or David Tennant... still think he doesn't "fit" the new course of young doctors... maybe he would have fit in the original series! Also, now, episodes are less interesting... can't say he is not a good actor - he's fun, too; maybe it's just the author's fault.
Best episode: "Blink" - and all related "angels".
I'm gonna be honest with you: "The Day of the Doctor" killed it for me.
I never cared much for what Russell T Davies did on the whole. Most of it was just too dark. I'm probably alone when I say Tennant was perhaps the worst Doctor ever, but RTD is really to blame for that.
His last few seasons (especially the series of specials) were just awful corruptions of Doctor Who.
Matt Smith's first couple seasons were a revelation and everything I missed Doctor Who being, but like RTD, Moffat has lost his mind. So my dislike for Capaldi is again, probably more due to Moffat than Capaldi being a bad Doctor. (Seriously, they have some crazy dark unpleasant murdery Christmas specials considering this show IS still aimed at kids.)
I have ZERO problem with the planned replacement of showrunner, Doctor and companion in one shot. They need fresh blood fast.
Don't forget "Torchwood"; I liked that series, too!
Latest season has started; the Doctor has a new partner - not particularly kind, but it's too early...
I must admit I started almost to like Peter Capaldi... almost... 
Nardole seems to be a constant presence in this new season - Matt Lucas was way better on Little Britain, by the way, and I missed that show a lot!
You guys are idiots. The best doctor is obviously The Valeyard!
Latest season has ended... don't know, I'm not that satisfied... yes, Peter Capaldi has improved (a bit), while his partner Bill is not so kind, I like Nardole - well, I preferred him in Little Britain, but we can't have everything...
Season 12 is, so far, the weakest ever seen - even more than previous season... boring, unimaginative, not interesting... what you all think?
Gave up after the first Calpaldi season to be honest. He was a good doctor but the stories were terrible.
