Alien Resurrection Open matte DVD?

Just curious, does anyone know if there is an open matte DVD or laserdisc of AR?
There was a full frame LD released in Hong Kong. Probably has subtitles.

There also was a full frame DIVX DVD. Did anyone ever successfully rip one of these?

It has them, and it should be p&s.

AFAIK, there is a french fullscreen DVD - it *should* be open matte; someone talked about an open matte version with two boom mikes in the same scene, don't know if they were talking about this; probably an US version exists.

Plus, there is a 16:9 open matte HDTV recording: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/112923

We should start something like an open matte database! EDIT: I did it! http://blog.sporv.com/open-matte-master-list/
Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash... Sad

I have the original 1080i HDTV copy that those screenshots are sourced from and can verify that the whole thing is 16x9 open matte. It's capped from a Russian broadcast, is 25fps, ONLY has a Russian voice-over... It's AVC encoded at 11.9mbps...

I also have a Russian VHS tape captured, which is open-matte/pan&scan. The quality is decent for a VHS capture. Of course, also only contains a Russian voice-over...

I am happy to share either one with youWink

The HDTV broadcast is 9GB and the VHS copy is about 900MB...

First time I ever saw one of those. Cool.
I found the VHS copy I have and took a quick screenshot of it to show the differences...

So, here we go:

To me, the open-matte HDTV version here is the best option... Hope this helpsWink
Weird that the headroom is exactly the same across all three.

Seeing more of Sigourney's legs is a good thing. Wink

Thanks for the rundown guys. I'm going to try to find hdtv. Given what jerry posted it looks like the 1.33 transfer is not worth tracking down.

Thanks jerry!
