Stargate on Netflix
#1
Anyone else from the UK noted that Stargate is a 1.85:1 version on Netflix?

Picture is decent and looks fairly good.

Stargate movie from 1994 starring Kurt Russell and James Spader.

From Roland Emerich and Dean Devlin bring you Stargate, a Sci Fi fantasy movie with ground breaking special effects and AAA acting.

Does Kurt Russel say "it's your call" or "he's full of shit"? (when James Spader says that he can decifer what they find on the other side)

I took a look last night, it looks to be a 16:9 crop of the original anamorphic 2.35:1 (opening credits in scope). It had an MGM logo at the start and like farstarbuck said it looks pretty good with decent compression. I didn't get to the line you mentioned Evit, I'll check later

This is the clip http://www.getyarn.io/yarn-clip/c0ca52ee...5af4e71185

Theatrical version was "it's your call", it was used to make sure they got an approval for younger audiences and it was brought back to the originally intended line "he's full of shit" with the director's cut DVD. Just a little thing I was curious about and could give an idea about the source used by Netflix

Yeah crop is actually pretty bad and offers nothing really over the 2.35:1.

Thought there might have been more info to see but alas!
