Halloween (1978) [Fundamental Collection™ #006]

From the back cover: “Despite the fact "Halloween" latest release on Blu-ray restored the original color grading as seen in the theaters, many think that the 1999 THX DVD, which was directly supervised and approved by the film Director of Photography Dean Cundey, has still the best colors. Using the same THX SD master as color reference, we used our acclaimed proprietary technique ColourMatch™ to regrade a 2K mastertaken from the original negative.
We also included the theatrical, untouched mono English audio track in a great PCM 1.0, and added also the French, German, Italian and Spanish tracks in DD 1.0; more, as a gift for the collectors, we added as bonus a PCM 1.0 isolated score & effects track, and a new and old commentary; add to all this six subtitles tracks.

Superb color grading! For me, the big bonus is going to be the original mono audio. Thank you so much for your time and effort!
Excellent. Thank you.

Thanks guys! It was time, indeed... now, expect many unfinished projects to be completed ASAP!
Nice
The regrade looks much better than the official release.
Thanks Jerry!
I like it more, two; beware that the regrade is from the THX DVD that was supervised and approved by DP Dean Cundey in 1999; the same who approved the 2013 35th Anniversary BD...
Now, if the first was a mistake, or the second was just because he was paid more... dunno!
Hi, many different Halloween releases, I've listed the main ones below and wondering which is has the TRUE mono mix? I think I read on bluray forums that the thunder in the beginning is a way to tell, however I don't know. Anyone know? Thank you.
2007 30th/35th Theatrical Bluray
2007 THX Theatrical DVD (Re-release)
2003 Divimax Theatrical DVD
2001 THX Extended DVD (Re-release)
1999 THX Extended DVD
1999 THX Theatrical DVD
1997 Theatrical DVD

If I'm not mistaken the mono mix is not exclusive to this release. It is ported over from one of the other releases.
The 35th Anniversary mono track is a fold down from 5.1 for sure; dunno about other digital releases, though.
What are the sources for the audio on this BD?
I was just wondering which releases have the original mono mix and then which release has the best original mono mix?
