Man of Steel original soundtrack recording - DTS : X mix

9 Replies, 6270 Views

Haven’t seen any ideas in terms of soundtrack recordings here yet so apologies if this is the wrong area.

The Man of Steel soundtrack release originally contained a redemption code to use on iTunes to download an app which was an enhanced version of the Man of Steel soundtrack that was mixed in DTS:X and included speaker versions and headphone versions. It was only playable through the app though on Apple products.

Is it possible to rip this and put it onto BD and have a lossless soundtrack in a BD audio format.

For the record, big fan of the film and the score is amazing
iTunes ripping is a thing, but there is some content that cannot be ripped, for example 4K content, because it can only be streamed, not downloaded (which is required for decoding/ripping it). Never done it myself, but the knowledge how to rip iTunes stuff is pretty widespread, as far as I know.

Same here.
The score was magic, and that's saying something considering what it was following.

Such a pity the execs at WB/DC listened to the naysayers, as I would of loved a UN-tampered continuation.

With this though, it was actually an app you downloaded which was basically a playlist and you downloaded the audio onto your device.

They did the same with the Rush soundtrack
DTS:X is merely processed stereo much like Dolby Headphone. You could just record the output of your Apple device.

Oh. I thought it was object based like Atmos.
I mean the headphone track.

This had three options though. Speaker system, in ear and over ear headphones.

I presume the speaker one would be object based? Reading up on the recording sessions, the instrument players were gathered in a circle and microphones installed around and overhead.

I'll need to see if I can still download it. Had it on my ipad before
