All copies I've seen of this trailer have been pretty lousy quality. I'd love to see a 35mm version of it. I think it's one of the best trailers ever made (the 3-minute version). Anyone able to hook me up with this?

Is that the one using the theme to Starman or the one using Micheal Stearn’s Chronos soundtrack? the french trailer can be re-edited using the movie itself
I'm also trying to identify the opening piece of music in the final trailer. Not Chronos, I have that. The opening bit with the drum beat and guitar riff.

Is that the trailer which shows the tank where it was filmed and a bit of behind the scenes before the trailer starts? Yeah that’s the trailer I’m looking for. The opening has music that isn’t listed anywhere. And yeah, I don’t think it’s Brainstorm, either. lol
Bit of a necrobump, but I don't think this was posted on any of The Abyss threads here on FanRes (I must have forgotten to mention it many months ago) and this thread was the most relevant place to dump it.
It seems someone out there actually got a 2K Scanstation scan of a 35mm trailer for the movie.
I absolutely love the look and it appears quite consistent to the descriptions I hear about the movie's original timing (with it looking a lot like the remaster but more cyan than teal) and that one 70mm image of it floating about. https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/histo...abyss-30th Wrote: |
