Pedicab Driver, The Blade, Big Bullet and Blade of Fury in HD?
#1
Warners bros owns these Hong Kong titles throughout most of the world.

I know they issued DVD-Rs with new transfers but I heard that they were also in HD (at least PD and Blade) and someone created custom discs of them.

I’m I right on this and does anyone know the HD copies whereabouts?

I have the HD version of PD (it's not my project FWIW). It's 1080i, captured in 720p (as the 1080i/p stream apparently had a lot of dropped frames). Remastered subs, and audio. It is quite jittery, I'm not sure if it could be improved. If you're interested, I can upload it for you.

I do think the other titles (at least 'The Blade' was streaming in HD) got pulled by WB before anyone could cap them.

I also have Pedicab Driver in 1080i.
I found it on a certain ru site we all like to visit from time to time Smile

There's also a smaller rip of PD floating around, it's also 1080i and purports to be from Chinese HDTV. But I'm yet to A/B it with the version outlined above.

Warner Brothers briefly had them up on their Warner Archive streaming service in HD. Supposedly, someone snitched to WB that people were ripping the streams to make custom discs, and they promptly removed them from the service. Warner Brothers is the absolute worst.

If they're on Amazon or iTunes in HD, someone could do a WEB-DL.

I don't believe they've been released on either. It might have been possible to do a WEB-DL at the time they appeared for streaming, but they were pulled too quickly.

Thanks for the offer Serums. I might take you up on it. I'm curious about the other HD version but first...

I found it on the RU based off CSchmidlapp's recommendation and downloading now. I assume it's still English friendly?

Also on a lark, searched for and found the Japanese HD copy of A Hero Never Dies Smile

That was what I heard, PD and others were only on the Warner Archive site, which is no longer and was replaced by Filmstruck, which is no longer, to be replaced by AT&T's new service which I'm sure will enjoy a long life.

Thanks guys!

No worries, PDB. Let me know if you'd like the other one at any point (that goes for any of you, too). I'm not sure if it's still available where I found it.
