Options for Removing Burned in Subtitles
Hey all, just wondering what my options are for dealing with burned in subtitles. The best quality source I can find for a film has some burned in ones (Japanese maybe?) that are no use to me. I will eventually be adding English subtitles, but are there any methods to remove or improve the burned in ones?

You could mask the subtitles and replace that area with another source. If that source has a different color grading, you could use a feather for the mask and use DrDre's colormatch tool to create a 3D LUT for the other source so it doesn't stand out. If the sources are noticeably not stabilized against each other, you could use the AutoOverlay AviSynth plugin to stabilize them against each other.
