anyone may have this?
i'd like to sync this audio with the itunes version, which so far is the only hd version in oar available.
a little update
1. i synced the dts from the dvd to the itunes version. it needed a delay of -94ms
at a later point in the movie, sync will move by +4ms. nothing to worry about. so no edits needed to be done
to the dts audio, except for the initial delay.
2. there is a japanese wowow 1080i oar release floating around. unfortunately it has burned in subs.
so either we can remove them with certain tools or we wait for the actual blu-ray to be released or we stick with the itunes version for now.
OK, OK, I confess... "The Panic Room" is in my project drawer... and yes, it is 1080p and without burned subs... but the DTS track is still missing, though... anyone interested in this as a proper restoration project?
I thought it was good movie, so yeah why not make restoration project out of it.
I've not seen this movie so I don't have an opinion on it, sorry.
I'm disappointed to see how this film has been dismissed as some sort of poor relation in Fincher's catalogue - it's as taut a piece of pure cinema as you're likely to find, and really deserves a proper HD release rather than languishing on streaming services.
Is the iTunes 1080p a decent presentation? I can't seem to find a standalone copy to play with, so I'd be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Afaik there is no 1080p version of the iTunes version floating around. The 720p release however is okay for what it is. I don't know how it compares to the WOWOW broadcast.
The available HDTV versions found on the wild are both 1080i and 720p; the former, at 25fps, needs not to be IVTC'd so it could be *considered* 1080p; both are open matte, losing some details on the sides, while gaining more on top and bottom.
