Laserdisc PCM Rips Available
#1
UPDATE: I'm taking requests again!

I've finally managed to confirm that my laserdisc PCM ripping set up is bit-perfect!

I'm currently ripping a few discs for my own projects and other users, my player will be hooked up to my computer for the next few weeks at least, so I thought I'd post a list of the laserdiscs I own that contain PCM soundtracks, in case they could be of use to other users in their projects.

I haven't yet tried ripping AC3 tracks, but I have a demodulator so in theory I should be able to do it, so I've also marked which discs contain an AC3 track.

Click each title for exact details on each laserdisc.

probably wont get it on 4k either knowing lions gate

I've still not picked up the Blu Ray. It's a great film. I'll let you know when it's ready.

Please note that the laserdisc I have is PAL so the audio will feature a 4% speedup. It's easy enough to fix though.

The UK Jacob's Ladder Blu has PCM stereo - afaik it's theatrical (though I stand to be corrected on this).

I'd be keen to try syncing the 1977 Dolby Stereo for Close Encounters - as I understand it, the Criterion disc is the only one that comes close to this. Do you have the means to capture a reference picture to aid with syncing?

Jason and the Argonauts would be amazing! I'm in the middle of doing a project on this and was going to use the AC3 mono from the Blu Ray.

Sure, but again note that this is a PAL release so the PCM will have a 4% speedup.

What was changed in the Jacob's Ladder audio?

I used to have a semi-decent method of capturing laserdisc picture, but it involved a cable that I lent to someone and never got back. I'm working on obtaining it again, I'll let you know.

The Criterion Close Encounters laserdisc is close to the theatrical release, but it does have a couple of changes, both intentional and unintentional. All the required audio should be on the disc, but not necessarily in the correct order...

Just a quick question; the Vertigo laserdisc is the AC3 version which I believe introduced a series of controversial audio changes. I assume the PCM track also includes these audio changes, are you still interested in this one?
