[Released] The Hidden 1987 Special Edition

This project started out as a relatively simple one, taking the Warner Archive Blu Ray and adding to it all the exclusive special features, and the isolated score, from the Lumivision Laserdisc. 

However upon inspection the blu ray has some severe differences in colour. I’ve been a fan of this film for a long time and I’ve owned it on VHS, Laserdisc and DVD, but it’s never looked like the blu ray. I read that Warner are standing by the transfer and are saying that is how it was originally intended, now I never saw it theatrically but to my eyes the blu looks awful. So it changed into a full regrade using the DVD and a total of 60 LUTs.

Had this on VHS many moons ago and watched the BR version a week or so ago. Your correction looks much more fitting for the film.

Love this movie, I remember first seeing this when i was 8 years old.

Wow ! That's an incredible restoration. Now the colors are more "alive". Good job buddy. Watched this movie when I was a kid.

Love this movie, had the double VHS U.S release and laserdisc version. I've never seen the blu-ray but this screen caps look awful. The color correction on your work is excellent and looks waaaaaay better.

I have to agree, what you've done with the color looks so much better. BD was far too warm. Everything looks great now especially skin tones.

Wow I managed to get my hands on the warner archive blu, wich was complicated from my country, but this is the real deal! color correction and extras!

Wow! Great work. We watched this to death when we were in high school. I made a bootleg VHS copy from the rental store tape, so I never got the chance to see it in great quality.

This is how the release of this film should have been done officially on BR. love the colour restoration, menus and extras package.
I've got the BR but my go to is still the old R4 dvd (iirc) which despite not being hd has a more natural palette.
