This is purely a request, as I have no idea what I'm doing or whether it would be feasible. Despite the colour grading, DNR and edits, I presume that the latest UHD release of T2 has the most detail? Would be great to see a 4K regrade of the director's cut, with some of the edits taken out (purple laser fire and the T1000's balls most importantly ). I'm guessing reinstating director's cut scenes might be a little jarring, considering they're only available in 1080p. Maybe upscaling those scenes would help. Hopefully they'd look okay with the rest of the 4K transfer being regraded. Also, I'm guessing it's arguable what might be the best mix of the audio track? I would be happy to contribute where I can, if that means financially or something.

The 4K has zero more detail than the regular disc. Just a different color scheme and framing in many shots.
It appears the scan restoration was finished at 2K and upscaled to 4K.
Oh really? I haven't really looked at both of them back to back to compare. If the scan restoration was finished at 2K, wouldn't that mean it would still be twice the resolution of the blu-ray then?

IIRC the scanning was done at 4K, but then all the "restoration" work, and 3D-conversion was carried out at 2K.
Right, okay. That's a bit of a shame. As if not do the "restoration" work at 4K. It's gotta be one of my favourite movies. It really does deserve the real treatment.
