Alleycat the Scream Factory disc is not the mono track. It's a downmix from the 5.1 or maybe the 1999 stereo remix.
I noted this in my Mad Max thread when I did the SD preservation from the European disc.

Ah shoot didn't see that .... from looking at dvd rewind there isn't a lossless version of the Australian mono anywhere - I guess that's why spoRv used lossy audio - I just assumed he didn't have access to the scream disc. I'm thinking the two options are to reissue it with the dolby digital audio that spoRv used or wait and see what Kino Lorber include when they do their disc in November. Any preferences?
Ok so I need to redo the disc for the first movie, as the mono audio is a mix down as confirmed by Stamper. However Kino have just confirmed their 4k disc due in November contains Australian mono audio - no idea at this point if it is another mix down. Also spoRv is possibly releasing a V2 of his regrade, so on that basis I'm going to hang off redoing the disc for now and wait until we know more about the Kino disc.
PDB however has now sent me over the third movie so I can start working on that disc.
The only major uncut Aussie mono release is the USA DVD over here. The MGM BD from the same source also has a lossy mono but drops a line which is on the DVD. If you don't have it I can send it to you.

Thanks for the offer, I think I'm going to hang off just until we know the state of Kino's lossless mono track.
Any update on the MAD MAX 2 disc? :-)
Hi. That seems to be a great Mad Max project. I had a look at the bonus list and I believed there would be more of them. Did you include the Monaro rocket behind the scene flick? (I have it around)
