Discovered lately SmartDVB; it seemed a good software - indeed, I recorded few HD films with no problems; but lately, it stops about one hour after I open it... as I use it mainly to record HDTV films not on BD, I MUST find a decent alternative...
Tried also SychboPVR: wonderful graphic, but fewer options, and now it seems to not work well...
Any other one?!?
Ehm... it seems this is not a DVB TV software, nor is free... what I need is a software where I could actually see and record DVB TV broadcasting, compatible with both MPEG2 and AVC.
Sorry, but a screen capture software is not what I need... just a simple, free, program to watch and record digital TV using my PCI DVB card... light and selfcontained will be better, but open to other solutions... I tried many, but none seemed to works well, or have the settings I want...
Sorry, I was just trying to help, LOL.
There HAS to be something out there you can use.
Don't worry!!!
Yep, it will be out there for sure... the problem is to find it!
http://www.fraps.com/
Not free but worth a look anyways.
Fraps is just another screen-capture software ( a very good one that I use frequently) and Andrea states in post#5 that he's not looking for that kind of software but, rather, for card-capture software...
Jerry, you are wrong, too! The fact my capture card is also a DVB card is purely coincidental... I use VirtualDub as capture card - the best so far! - but I was struggling to find out a good software to see and record DTV in DVB standard... sadly, it seems the problem lies not (only) in the software, but in the signal strenght of my antenna... I mean, in SD I have 100% quality - and SD recording is not a problem - while in HD I have only around 70%, which seems to be not always enough to prevent freezes, blockings etc.
So, for the moment, I stick with the program I'm using, we'll see if the antenna signal could be improved... at the end, real non-upscaled movies not no BD on FTA is quite rare these days!
