What resolution do you prefer for projects?
#1
So just a question that I've been meaning to ask for a while. I consider 1080p to be the default nowadays and really don't see 2160p supplanting it for awhile at current pace. So most of my projects will still be 1080p for the foreseeable future.

The question I wanted to ask, was if I have a chance to do something in 2160p (probably 4K/2020/SDR, maybe HDR) would people want that over 1080p? I know a good chunk of members have moved up to 4K TVs which would say to me to go 2160p but the benefits at proper distance are limited and the render time is longer.

Just curious to hear from you good people here on fanres as to what you prefer.

Honestly, I votes 2160p, but it always depends on the project and source.

If the 2160p is more like an upsampling from HD, then I would prefer the 1080p version, but if the source material is native 2160p, I'd prefer the UHD.

Same as MrBrown really, I’m able to play 2160p files and get them onto my TV. Appreciate some may not be in that position so if possible both (I know that takes more time and space though).

Thanks guys for the opinion and votes.

We are at 50/50, not sure I'm in any better position than I was before lol Smile

Well.. thats the moment for a compromise: Just do SD definition, until we agree on one preffered size. Big Grin

1080p bc my PC is slow, heh. Could just do something in between too, like 1440p or anamorphic 1080p (non-square pixel aspect ratio) for scope projects. Lots of options.
