I am not quite set up for full laser disc extractions, or ripping DVDs and editing video. My mother has an original TV airing of Star Wars from the mid 80s with mid 80s commercials. Hopefully she can find it, and I want to do a quick capture of the VHS to DVD using a standard recorder. Any thoughts on this. She is coming this weekend and hopefully she can find the tape.
I have the means to transfer the VHS.
Thanks for the offer. I would like to take a stab at trying it myself. What sort of equipment would be needed to do a quality transfer? I am assuming that a simple VCR DVD recorder will not do a great job.
Thanks for that. I had seen that post already. I have a hauppauge wintv card that is probably not the greatest, but I figure it could get me started.
Do you think to get a quality transfer, I would need a S-VHS VCR. How important is TBC?
A consumer S-VHS recorder is better than almost all VHS consumer recorder, while pro VHS players (recorders) could easily surpass the former playing a VHS tape.
A TBC is fundamental!
