Adding and editing subtitles...

... without re-encoding/converting the video/audio ?
MKVtoolnix is a fine program, but there is no option for subtitle positioning and size.
I know about tsmuxer, multiavchd... but they seem complicated.
Is there a simplest way of doing above-mentioned ?
If you want hardcoded subtitles, you HAVE TO re-encode video.

If you want soft subs, you DO NOT NEED to touch video at all.

Try Subtitle Edit - good and free!
Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash... Sad

- I know.

- So, you can adjust the position and size with that program without re-encoding the video ?
And then it will be compatible with standalone Blu-ray player ?
Yep; the saved file from Subtitle Edit - and other softwares - like .SUP .SRT etc. can then be muxed with untouched audio and video; try tsMuxeR to mux them - agrain, good and free! Wink

Tried many ways... it is not compatible with standalone Blu-ray player.

Strange... I used it for like twenty of my projects, and the burnt discs worked in several players...

You can also use a program like Aegisub to edit the subtitles as .ass files, then convert them to .sup using sub2bd: https://forum.fanres.com/thread-2075.html

Those players must be newer as opposed to mine current stupid, dull Pioneer BDP-LX54 from year 2010.

I know about that program as well. Too much complication over small thing. Makes me want to play films from computer.
But hey, thanks anyway, folks.
