[Help]

Fixing surround audio w/o left and right channels.

I've ripped some movies from blu-ray and noticed that there's no audio coming out from left and right channels in one of the audio tracks, So I extracted those audio files and opened it in an editor.

This is the one that has this problem. (it's the dubbed audio) as you can see, there's no audio on those channels.

And this is the audio in it's original language.

I've tried combining those channels onto the dubbed audio, but there's some leftover dialogue of original language that's still can be heard.

Is anyone here can give me some advice how to fix this problem ???
I don't think there's a good way to fix this. Your best bet would be finding another source and syncing the audio from that. If it's a new release it might be worth contacting the distributor, seems like a QA issue that just went unnoticed.
Out of curiosity what movie?
It looks to me like a channel mapping issue. Those surround channels have way too much audio in them to be surrounds. My guess is that they are the original L and R channels that have been incorrectly mapped as surrounds and it's the surrounds that should be silent (i.e. this is a 3.1 mix).

Now that you mention it, they do match the front LR on the original track a lot closer then the surrounds. I suspect you may be right on this.
Still, an issue that should of been picked up in QA.

And before you ask, yes, this is from legit copy. (Bought a copy because this one is dubbed in TrueHD format), also, i don't have another source to try it out.

And for QA issue, the company that used to distribute this movie at that time (in my country and in physical format) is long gone, and another company are now owning the rights to distribute this movie. but that new company doesn't seem to be interested in physical format anymore, so, contacting with them is just out of question.

Just cut and paste the audio from the Lsd /Rsd channels from the dubbed track into the blank L/R channels. Then copy and paste the Lsd/Rsd channels from the original language track into the blank Lsd/Rsd dubbed track channels.

Since the surround channels are unlikely to have much (if any) dialogue in them then the result should be a complete 5.1 channel dubbed track. In any case it's the best you're going to be able to achieve with what you have.
