Its a Hi from FarStarbuck

Hey Guys,

I came across this forum from Original Trilogy and it was the restoration works that intrigued me so.

I was a firm Laserdisc user and still believe that the soundtracks I listened to oh so many times still sound better
than some of the DVD and BD tracks that have followed. So i was amazed to find people with the same opinion it would appear!

I'm no tinkerer of such wizardry as you may be but I have a keen eye and ear and I'm a fan.

Now, I'm still trying to watch a certain movie favourite of mine, Escape from New York, to no avail I have followed all the
cryptic clues to watch but I have been met with the greatest of dead ends.

I'd appreciate another avenue to watch as the others mentioned are either closed or not working.

Hey, thank you for the welcome.

I'm interested in a lot of things but yeah the EFNY project did bring me to this forum. Now I've had a look around I can see a lot of projects that interest me personally. I've even suggested one now too.

I'll post as much as I can, I'm not going to lie all your collective knowledge is quite intimidating and someone like me who is technical in other ways can seem confused as to where they might fit in. But I'll be trying!

You'll do fine. Just keep reading and ask questions .... these projects are combined efforts, not solitary ones, and they all start with an idea.

I, too, hope that you decide to stick around, even if just in the role of an observer/commenter. Even if you have no tech skills at ALL, but have a love for these kinds of projects, feedback is ALWAYS welcome. NOT a requirement but you'd be surprised how much feedback from others has moved certain projects forward.

Jetrell Fo is right about the fact that there are many projects here that are collaborative efforts, but there are also some that are "personal" projects done by some of us. NO pressure to getting you to do this, but a few years back I was a "noob," such as yourself, at all of this, and now am working on solo and team projects here and there. You NEVER know and you might end up wanting to try to "bring an idea to life" at some point and if you EVER get the urge, feel free to ask in the forum. The people here are pretty friendly as long as there is a level of mutual-respect and there is a lot of knowledge between the members here... ask and someone will probably have an answer or point you in the right direction
