Scanning 35mm video and audio

2 Replies, 3558 Views

Hello,

I would want to know how can I scan 35mm tape in order to get best quality (4k would be great, I have Epson scanner that scans at 3200 DPI, but I don't know if I can scan film with it).

I have no idea how would I get the audio out of the film though. Any ideas? Would it be super expensive and not worth the time?
Is this a joke?
Ok, when you say 35mm tape, are you referring to something recorded on a thing like this?

As far as scanning 35mm film with a "regular" scanner is concerned... technically, yes, you could scan it one frame at a time, but this would be SUPER-TIME-CONSUMING. And then there would be the issue of getting the audio. Certain proper equipment is needed for things like thisWink
