LaserDiscs needed for replacing BD audio
#1
Music
Thought an on going list was needed for LDs, you can say either you own it, have it captured, or it should be acquired for preservation.
If you have it captured, specify whether it's analog, or digital and bit perfect.  IN RED MEANS WE HAVE IT

A list of movies remixed from mono that BusterD found https://www.hometheaterforum.com/communi...ks.339481/

I've got Christine and Duel on LD and DVD. I have the limited release German BD of Christine as well.

I'm happy to capture the LD audio if I haven't already so you can cross those off the list.

Awesome! Thanks Lil Brutto that would be great. All of the LDs listed i don't own the LD. every once and while i'll try to get one from the list if it's a low enough price.

I could be wrong, but I think the second Blu Ray release of Monster Squad, (the one that drops all the extras) sports a lossless 2.0 track. Whether it's the original mix I have no idea. What appears to be the original stereo is on the original release in Dolby Digital.

I have a bunch of the Harryhausen films, but mostly the Pioneer special editions sported stereo tracks, and I can't recall if the mono is on the analog. The older editions are likely all analog.

I do have the Criterion Jason with the Harryhausen commentary that's never appeared on any other format. I also have the "Aliens Monsters and Me" documentary about Ray that's also never appeared on DVD or Blu Ray. Maybe make a preservation with all of that?

For Monster Squad i see an LD with analog dolby surround and one with digital dolby stereo, i'm assuming stereo is the original? The prices on the LDs are for this movie are very high!

I saw that on BD for the Olive films release but it would be now another BD just to get the 2.0. If only someone had it around here. Wink

Yeah it's weird the pan and scan LD remains so pricey. The widescreen Japanese disc was the only game in town when there was no DVD version. I guess they're the holy grail of every MC fans collection?

Must be the holy grail but i don't understand why, even Slipstream is super expensive.
